Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS - Compact 24-70mm lens; Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN L - For mirrorless cameras; Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 L - The best 24-70mm lens for portraits; The range of 24-70 mm usually covers all the most popular and handy focal lengths, from wide-angle to the standard 35/50 mm settings and up to the 70 mm telephoto range.
More on this later. Given its importance, Canon was quick to release one for R-mount - namely the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L IS, priced at around 2500EUR/2300USD. That's almost a 50% price hike compared to Canon's DSLR variant. Of course, these are very different designs and the RF lens adds the all-important image stabilizer on top.
The Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di Lens is a relatively small normal zoom lens that delivers good image quality and a wide fixed f/2.8 aperture for a low cost.. Pictured above from left to right are the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Lens, Tamron SP 28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di Lens, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens.
I bought this lens for two reasons: to replace my kit lens (Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras) with some serious L glass, and for the wide angle coverage. The other lenses I use most frequently are Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras and Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM MediumelZ644V.
